      • What is the Bertín Osbone Foundation?

Supporting families of people with disabilities, regardless of their difficulty or stage of life, is the goal the Bertin Osborne Foundation has set since its founding a decade ago.

The foundation's mission is to generate and promote well-being in families of people with disabilities through information, training, and psychological guidance, providing tools that improve the family environment so that it has a positive impact on the child with a disability.

To achieve their goals, they have created +Family, a free, comprehensive support and advice service so that families of people with disabilities feel informed and supported in their daily lives. • The bracelets

The bracelets from Sibela Studio's collaboration with the Bertín Osborne Foundation are designed by Sibela Studio exclusively for the foundation, based on its history and the goal we aim to achieve.

They are made with noble materials, 925 sterling silver finished with an 18-karat yellow gold or rhodium plating.

The gemstones that make up the bracelet are AAA-quality olivine green zircons . The cotton cord that surrounds the links, closing the bracelet in orange, red, or blue, is 1 mm thick and features an 8-knot snake clasp.

      • History of the bracelet

Unity is strength, and we want to pay tribute to the first support group we have in life, the most important, the one that's always there: the family that surrounds you.

The links represent the strength that parents, siblings, and other family members give us... But they're also a sign of the support the foundation and its professionals provide to families who need it most.

Together, united, we can be there for these families of children with disabilities.

The bracelets help raise awareness about the foundation's work and how the unity represented in the links gives us strength.

      • Objective of the collaboration

Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of having a support network and help more families with part of the proceeds from Sibela's latest collaboration: a charity bracelet.

Sibela donates all the profits from the bracelet to the Bertín Osbone Foundation.

The bracelets help raise awareness about the foundation's work and raise funds , which go toward the +Family project , specifically for doctors, lawyers, and all kinds of professionals who provide care, advice, and information about the help available, and, above all, provide support on a daily basis.

      • Gold plated.

Gold plating techniques are different methods used to deposit a layer of gold on the surface of 925 sterling silver. These platings are carried out using chemical or electrochemical processes.

The gold layer is measured in microns. The more microns, the higher the quality of the piece. The best quality offered on the market is vermeil plating . A plating that deposits 3 microns of thickness. of gold on the silver piece, this It guarantees a longer lasting golden color, although this will always depend on the use you give them.

      • Rhodium plating.

Rhodium is a metal of the platinum group , very rare, very white in color and very resistant to wear . Although it may surprise you, rhodium is one of the most expensive metals in the world due to its scarcity; the price of rhodium is much higher than that of gold or platinum.

In fine jewelry, it is primarily used to give a final coating to all pieces made of white gold, so any jewelry coated with this metal will have a very white color, will shine more, and will remain unaffected by corrosion.

Sibela applies rhodium plating to the blue link bracelet with a white final finish.
